Construction in the Emergency Department

Alexandria, ON – In our ongoing commitment to provide the highest level of patient care and safety, Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is pleased to announce upcoming updates to our negative pressure resuscitation room located within the Emergency Department beginning August 29th, 2023. These improvements will further enhance our ability to manage infectious diseases and ensure the well-being of both patients and healthcare providers. While these upgrades are underway, we want to assure our community that every effort will be made to minimize disruptions to our emergency services.

As we work towards enhancing this vital facility, it's important to note that the construction process will intermittently reduce availability of certain beds in the Emergency Department. While these beds will be unavailable at times during the upgrade period, our dedicated medical team is fully committed to ensuring smooth operations and minimal delays in service.

The upgrades to the negative pressure room underscore HGMH's dedication to staying at the forefront of patient safety and infrastructure renewal. By investing in these improvements, the hospital is reinforcing their commitment to providing the best possible care to the community. HGMH is grateful to the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP), via the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario, for funding that supported this renovation project.
