New Slate of Directors and Annual Report

Alexandria, Ontario, (June 29, 2023) – Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) held its Annual General Meeting in person on June 28^th, 2023. Attendees were given a copy of the Annual Report. The meeting opened with a patient story from Chris MacGillivray where he shared his experience and appreciation for the hospital, hitting home the importance of health care close to home. The meeting continued with an update on the accomplishments of the hospital over the past year presented by hospital leaders and staff, the auditor presented the financial report and statements, and new members were elected to the volunteer Board of Directors.  

A significant highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Board Award of Excellence. This distinguished accolade recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment, and outstanding contributions to the success and mission of the hospital. This year’s recipients Dave Lorimer and Chantal Mageau-Pinard were celebrated for their exceptional contributions to the organization in which have been noted by peers. The hospital extends heartfelt congratulations for their remarkable accomplishments.

The Annual General Meeting concluded with the election of new board members who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital. Frank Wetering was re-elected as Board Chair, Stuart Robertson was elected as Board Vice-Chair and Charlotte Nagy was elected as Board Treasurer. Dr. Raynald Cardinal and Gordon Peters were elected as new members, replacing outgoing members Matthew MacLean who served 9 years on the Board and Eunice Lee who served 6 years on the Board.
